SB3607 makes most non-compete agreements for health care practitioners in Illinois void and unenforceable.
SB3607, the Fair Contracting for Health Care Practitioners Act, declares that non-compete agreements for health care practitioners entered into after the Act's effective date are void and unenforceable. Exceptions allow employers to enforce non-compete agreements if they are one year or less and the practitioner was not dismissed. The Act also voids non-compete agreements if the practitioner is not a party to the sale, transfer, or disposition of a business entity. Effective January 1, 2027.
