Illinois SB3604 amends the Cemetery Oversight Act to create the Cemetery Relief Fund, which will be managed by the State Comptroller. The fund will provide reimbursements to local governments, registered cemeteries, and non-profit organizations for the cleanup of abandoned, neglected, or at-risk cemeteries. Three percent of the Cemetery Oversight Licensing and Disciplinary Fund will be transferred annually to the Cemetery Relief Fund. The fund will also cover reimbursements if there is a structural surplus in the Cemetery Oversight Licensing and Disciplinary Fund.
