SB3568 amends Illinois law to promote supported decision-making for adults with disabilities.

SB3568 amends the Illinois Probate Act and the Supported Decision-Making Agreement Act to enhance supported decision-making for adults with disabilities. It requires guardians ad litem to inquire if supported decision-making is an alternative to guardianship. The bill mandates that courts inform respondents of their rights to petition for guardianship modification or termination. It also allows supported decision-making agreements to be used in evidence for purposes other than capacity determination.
