SB3559

SCH CD-COMPLIANCE COMPLAINT

Introduced·2/5/26
Introduced Text

Illinois SB3559 establishes a standardized process for filing and investigating complaints against school districts or officials.

Illinois SB3559 amends the School Code to create a uniform process for handling complaints about school districts or officials. The State Board of Education must develop a standardized Uniform Compliance Complaint Form, available on regional office and intermediate service center websites. Upon receiving a complaint, these offices must investigate and issue a written decision within 60 days. If a violation is found, the office issues a report requiring a corrective action plan. The regional office or service center monitors the plan's progress until compliance is achieved.
