Illinois SB3520 waives sovereign immunity for the Department of Transportation in federal court for certain compliance, discharge, or enforcement.

Illinois SB3520 amends the Department of Transportation Law by adding a new section that waives sovereign immunity from civil suits in federal court for the Illinois Department of Transportation. This waiver is limited to actions involving compliance, discharge, or enforcement of responsibilities assumed by the Department under the law. The waiver does not create liability exceeding that specified in Title 23 of the United States Code. This change applies only to actions authorized under the law.
