SB3496

RN LICENSE TEMP SUSPENSION

Chamber Passed·4/14/26

SB3496 allows temporary suspension of nursing licenses if the licensee was not properly credentialed.

SB3496 amends the Nurse Practice Act to enable the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to temporarily suspend a nursing license if the licensee was not properly credentialed at the time of application. The suspension can occur without prior hearing until satisfactory evidence of qualifications is provided. The licensee can request a Board review within 30 days of notification, and disciplinary proceedings may follow. The suspension does not constitute discipline or bar future licensure if the licensee re-applies and meets qualifications.
