Illinois SB3487 amends the Hospital Licensing Act by requiring every hospital to adopt an influenza and pneumococcal immunization policy. This policy must include procedures for identifying patients aged 18 or older for influenza immunization and patients aged 50 or older for pneumococcal immunization. The policy must also include procedures for offering immunization against influenza virus between September 1 and April 1, and against pneumococcal disease upon admission or discharge, in accordance with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommendations.
