Illinois SB3481 prohibits hospitals and health care professionals from disclosing gender-affirming care information of minors.

Illinois SB3481 amends the Hospital Licensing Act to prohibit hospitals and health care professionals from disclosing or threatening to disclose information about gender-affirming care of minors. This includes personally identifiable information. Disclosure is only allowed if it complies with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
