Extends eligibility for Illinois hospitals to be designated as Safety-Net Hospitals.
The bill amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to extend the eligibility period for hospitals to be designated as Safety-Net Hospitals. Specifically, it allows hospitals that would have qualified for the rate year beginning October 1, 2011 or October 1, 2012 to remain eligible until December 31, 2026. Additionally, it extends eligibility for hospitals designated as federal rural referral centers as of October 1, 2020, until December 31, 2026.
