Illinois SB3434 amends the Community Services Act by adding community day services to the list of service categories. Community day services are defined as a Home and Community-Based Waiver day program certified by the Department of Human Services. These services assist individuals with developmental disabilities in gaining, maintaining, or improving skills and functioning. They can take place in a site certified by the Department or in community locations where members of the general community typically congregate.
