SB3428 amends the Counties Code to change the threshold for competitive bidding in counties with fewer than 2,000,000 inhabitants.

SB3428 amends the Counties Code to change the threshold for competitive bidding in counties with fewer than 2,000,000 inhabitants. It raises the threshold for purchases requiring competitive bidding from $30,000 to $60,000. The bill also allows for contracts without advertising in emergencies or for the expedited replacement of disabled patrol vehicles. Additionally, it requires bidders to certify their eligibility and acknowledges the county's right to void contracts based on false certifications.
