Illinois SB3407 limits health insurance premium charges for hospital employees to 10% of the total cost.

Illinois SB3407 amends the Hospital Licensing Act to restrict large hospitals from charging their employees more than 10% of the total health insurance premium cost. Any agreement exceeding this limit is deemed invalid and unenforceable. Hospitals violating this provision must pay a civil penalty of $500 per affected employee to the Department of Public Health. The bill defines "covered hospital employee" to include various staff members providing patient care or related services.
