SB3383 amends the Hospital Licensing Act to mandate that hospitals develop and implement comprehensive interventions to prevent and control pathogens of epidemiological concern. These interventions must consider guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and recommendations from various infectious disease societies. Hospitals must also adopt policies that include a facility risk assessment and appropriate evidence-based procedures to identify and prevent the transmission of these pathogens.
