Illinois SB3382 amends the Illinois Highway Code to allow applicants for permits for affordable housing developments to request an expedited review from the Department of Transportation. The applicant must pay a $10,000 expedited permit fee, which goes into the Road Fund. If the Department fails to complete the review within the agreed timeframe, the applicant receives a prorated refund. This expedited process does not apply to emergency events. The Department can adopt rules to implement this Section.
