Illinois SB3362 amends existing laws to increase penalties for violations related to pollution, drug take-back, and consumer electronics recycling.

Illinois SB3362, known as the Make Polluters Pay Act, amends the Drug Take-Back Act, the Paint Stewardship Act, and the Consumer Electronics Recycling Act. It increases the civil penalty for violations from $7,000 to $10,000 per violation. The penalties collected are to be deposited into the Environmental Protection Trust Fund. Additionally, it introduces stricter penalties for making false statements to the Agency, including Class 4 and Class 3 felonies for subsequent violations.
