Religious Hair and Facial Hair Protections Act prohibits school dress codes from restricting religious hairstyles and facial hair.

The Religious Hair and Facial Hair Protections Act amends the School Code to prohibit school dress codes from restricting religious hairstyles and facial hair. Schools may not discipline or deny attendance to students for noncompliance with dress codes during the time necessary for the student to comply. The Act also requires the State Board of Education to provide resource materials on hairstyles historically associated with race, ethnicity, or hair texture. Effective immediately.
