SB3358 mandates the State Board of Education to create guidance for schools on using technology-based learning resources.

SB3358 amends the School Code to require the State Board of Education to develop statewide guidance for school districts and educators on using technology-based learning resources in elementary and secondary education. The guidance must include explanations and examples of resources, ways to use them, privacy concerns, and student-data privacy impacts. The State Board must publish this guidance by July 1, 2027, and update it as needed. The State Superintendent of Education can convene a council to consult on further development of guidance and support for school districts.
