SB3330

SB3330 amends teacher dismissal procedures in Illinois, focusing on the sequence of dismissals and recall of honorably dismissed teachers.

SB3330 revises the Illinois School Code to detail the process for the removal or dismissal of teachers in contractual continued service. It mandates that teachers be categorized into four groups based on their performance evaluation ratings for the sequence of dismissal. Groupings are defined by ratings such as "Excellent," "Proficient," "Satisfactory," and "Needs Improvement." Teachers in grouping one, with the highest ratings, are dismissed last. The bill also outlines procedures for selecting hearing officers, conducting hearings, and making decisions on dismissals.
