Illinois SB3325 mandates implicit bias training for healthcare professionals, including perimenopause and menopause topics, effective January 1, 2027.

Illinois SB3325 amends the Department of Professional Regulation Law to require healthcare professionals to complete a one-hour course in implicit bias awareness per renewal period. Starting January 1, 2027, this training must include topics on perimenopause and menopause. Perimenopause is defined as the period beginning with menstrual cycle changes and extending through one year post-menopause. Menopause is defined as the time when ovaries stop producing estrogen and menstrual periods cease. The training can count towards the one-hour implicit bias requirement.
