SB3297

SB3297 amends Illinois Election Code to regulate pollwatchers and campaign free zones at polling places.

SB3297 amends the Illinois Election Code to establish rules for pollwatchers and campaign free zones at polling places. It allows established political parties, candidates, and certain civic organizations to appoint pollwatchers, who must be registered Illinois voters. Pollwatchers can observe election proceedings but must not interfere with voting. The bill also mandates the creation of campaign free zones around polling places, prohibiting electioneering within 100 feet of polling entrances. Exceptions allow for electioneering beyond these zones on public property.
