Illinois SB3286 amends the Unemployment Insurance Act to clarify eligibility for benefits for academic personnel.

Illinois SB3286 amends the Unemployment Insurance Act to specify that benefits are payable for employment in other than instructional, research, or principal administrative capacities performed for an educational institution or an educational service agency. It clarifies that individuals are ineligible for benefits during periods between academic years or terms if they have a reasonable assurance of continued employment. The bill also addresses retroactive payments for denied benefits. The changes take effect immediately upon becoming law.
