Illinois SB3264 mandates social media platforms to establish an online safety center and cyberbullying policies by January 1, 2027.

Illinois SB3264, known as the Online Safety Act, requires social media platform owners to integrate an online safety center by January 1, 2027. This center must provide resources to prevent cyberbullying and offer information on mental health services. Additionally, the platforms must implement a cyberbullying policy detailing how they handle such reports. The Act also restricts certain features for minors, such as preventing unsolicited communications from adults and limiting features that could extend minors' use of the platform.
