SB3252 amends Illinois Election Code to redefine voting systems and repeal Direct Recording Electronic Voting Systems Article.

SB3252 amends the Illinois Election Code by redefining terms such as "voting system" and "electronic voting system" to exclude direct recording electronic voting systems and systems using computers to mark paper ballots. It repeals the Direct Recording Electronic Voting Systems Article and makes conforming changes. The bill also specifies that only voting machines or systems approved by the State Board of Elections can be used. Effective January 1, 2027.
