SB3244 mandates electronic cigarette manufacturers to register their products with the Illinois Department of Revenue.

SB3244 amends the Prevention of Tobacco Use by Persons under 21 Years of Age and Sale and Distribution of Tobacco Products Act. It requires manufacturers of electronic cigarettes to register their products with the Department of Revenue and submit an affidavit. The Department of Revenue will maintain a public registry of these registrations. The Department of Revenue, along with the Department of Public Health, the Attorney General, and local law enforcement, will enforce compliance by seizing non-compliant products. Violations by manufacturers are classified as a Class A misdemeanor.
