Illinois SB3190 amends the Unified Code of Corrections to enhance penalties for offenses involving knives.

Illinois SB3190 amends the Unified Code of Corrections to increase penalties for offenses involving knives. Specifically, if a person commits an offense while possessing a knife, 15 years shall be added to the term of imprisonment imposed by the court. If the person used the knife during the commission of the offense, 20 years shall be added. If the knife caused great bodily harm, permanent disability, permanent disfigurement, or death, 25 years or up to a term of natural life shall be added.
