Illinois SB3188 amends the Employee Blood and Organ Donation Leave Act to provide leave for blood and organ donation.

Illinois SB3188 amends the Employee Blood and Organ Donation Leave Act to allow employees to take leave with pay for blood and organ donation. Employees can use available paid leave or up to one hour of unpaid leave every 56 days for blood donation if no paid leave is available. For organ donation, employees can use up to 10 days of unpaid leave in any 12-month period unless the employer provides a policy for paid leave or the employee has sufficient paid leave. The Department must adopt rules for requesting and approving leave, including medical documentation requirements.
