SB3167

SNAP-HUMANITARIAN IMMIGRANT

Introduced·2/2/26
Introduced Text

SB3167 extends Illinois SNAP and cash assistance to humanitarian immigrants and victims of trafficking, torture, or serious crimes.

SB3167 amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to provide state-funded cash assistance and SNAP benefits to humanitarian immigrants and foreign-born victims of trafficking, torture, or other serious crimes. These benefits are contingent on the individual not being eligible for comparable federal benefits due to immigration status and having applied for certain immigration statuses. Eligible individuals include refugees, those granted asylum, and others with specific immigration statuses. Benefits are subject to available funding and may be extended beyond one year under certain conditions.
