SB3088

ELEC CD-POLLING PLACES

Introduced·1/29/26
Introduced Text

SB3088 requires county boards to evaluate alternatives before choosing schools as polling places.

SB3088 amends the Election Code to require county boards or boards of election commissioners to evaluate all suitable alternatives before requesting a school building for use as a polling place. If a school is chosen, the school district must make it available for use on election day and for a necessary time before and after the election, without charge. The bill also encourages school districts to close schools or hold teacher institutes on election days.
