SB3074

Illinois SB3074 establishes the PA Licensure Compact to facilitate the practice of physician assistants across state lines.

Illinois SB3074, the Physician Assistant Licensure Compact Act, creates a compact allowing physician assistants (PAs) licensed in one state to practice in other participating states. The compact aims to enhance the portability of PA licenses while safeguarding patient safety. To exercise the Compact Privilege, a PA must hold an unrestricted license, pass a national exam, and have no felony or misdemeanor convictions. The compact establishes a PA Licensure Compact Commission to oversee the agreement, including rulemaking, dispute resolution, and enforcement.
