Illinois SB3059 amends the Election Code to ensure polling places are accessible to voters with disabilities and elderly voters.

Illinois SB3059 amends the Election Code to require all polling places to be accessible to voters with disabilities and elderly voters. Each polling place must include at least one voting booth that is wheelchair accessible. The State Board of Elections must report to the General Assembly by December 31 of each even-numbered year on the number of accessible and inaccessible polling places, along with reasons for inaccessibility. Exceptions are allowed in emergencies or if all potential polling places have been surveyed and found to be inaccessible.
