Illinois SB3036 amends the School Code to provide guidelines for excused absences due to cultural, religious, or other observances. It requires the State Board of Education to post and distribute a nonexhaustive list of identified days and dates of cultural, religious, or other observances for the upcoming school year. The list serves as a resource for scheduling major school events, encouraging schools to avoid scheduling significant academic deadlines or major school events on these identified days and dates.
