SB3020

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE-HARASSMENT

Final Passage·5/31/26

SB3020 amends Illinois laws to enhance protections for victims of domestic violence, harassment, and stalking.

SB3020 amends the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986 and the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 to strengthen protections for victims of domestic violence, harassment, and stalking. It expands the definition of harassment to include non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images and digitally altered content. The bill allows courts to order respondents to cease harassment, including doxing and electronic surveillance. It also mandates that wireless telephone service providers transfer telephone numbers to petitioners upon court order.
