Illinois SB3016 amends the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Act to require the Department of Natural Resources to prioritize projects that incorporate universal design elements. These elements include poured-in-place rubber surfacing, multiple access points for wheelchairs, a variety of ground-level and elevated play components, inclusive swings, and seating. The Department must adopt rules to establish these priorities within its grant application review process. This Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
