Illinois SB2962 mandates coverage for medically necessary epinephrine delivery systems in health insurance policies.
Illinois SB2962 amends the Illinois Insurance Code to require group or individual policies of accident and health insurance, as well as managed care plans, to cover medically necessary epinephrine delivery systems. This coverage must be provided for policies amended, issued, delivered, or renewed on or after January 1, 2028. The bill also removes language that previously limited the amount an insured could be required to pay for a twin-pack of medically necessary epinephrine injectors or delivery systems.
