Illinois SB2957 mandates tariff cost disclosure by retail establishments and sets audit and recordkeeping requirements.

The Tariff Transparency Act requires retail establishments to disclose the tariff portion of retail prices. This disclosure must be visible on point-of-sale tags, online product pages, printed receipts, or in another manner approved by the Attorney General. Wholesale trade firms must provide necessary tariff information to retail establishments. Retail establishments and wholesale trade firms must maintain records of tariff calculations and payments.
