Illinois SB2900 mandates biodiesel use in state-owned diesel vehicles starting July 1, 2027.
Illinois SB2900 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to require diesel-powered vehicles owned or operated by the state, counties, school districts, community colleges, public colleges, universities, and mass transit agencies to use a biodiesel blend containing 19% biodiesel starting July 1, 2027. The bill allows a biodiesel blend of at least 10% during December, January, February, and March. The Secretary of Transportation will implement this requirement through rules.
