Final Passage·5/21/26

Illinois SB2879 amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act to allow advanced practice registered nurses to conduct comprehensive assessments.

Illinois SB2879 modifies the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act to expand the roles of healthcare professionals involved in resident assessments. The bill allows advanced practice registered nurses, in addition to physicians and physician assistants, to complete comprehensive assessments for residents. The service plans developed from these assessments must be approved by the resident's physician, physician assistant, or advanced practice registered nurse.
