SB2878 amends the Illinois Insurance Code to regulate dental coverage reimbursement. It prohibits insurers and related entities from requiring dental care providers to accept only credit card or electronic funds transfer payments and from charging fees for payment transmission. The bill mandates that insurers provide clear instructions on selecting alternative payment methods and implement changes within 30 business days. It also prohibits using a provider's preferred payment method as a credentialing factor. Effective January 1, 2027.
