SB2833 amends the Property Tax Code to extend deadlines for applying for judgment and order of sale for delinquent taxes if tax bills for the second installment are not mailed by the specified deadlines. In counties with fewer than 3,000,000 inhabitants, the application deadline is extended by an additional 90 days. In Cook County, the application deadline for the 2023 annual tax sale is extended to March 10, 2026. The bill also specifies that in Cook County, interest shall not accrue between September 2, 2025, and April 1, 2026, on delinquent warrant year 2023 tax balances.
