SB2831

Establishes the Comprehensive Charitable Food System Coordination Act to enhance coordination among State agencies and charitable food system actors.

The Comprehensive Charitable Food System Coordination Act aims to ensure that State-administered hunger relief programs and grantmaking activities strengthen the entire charitable food system. It requires State agencies to consult and coordinate with all categories of actors within the charitable food system, including food providers, distributors, producers, facilitators, and data systems. The Act mandates that grant solicitations and funding criteria reflect the interconnected roles of these actors and encourages proposals that enhance coordination, efficiency, resiliency, and equity.
