Illinois SB2824 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to revise the qualifications for driver training instructors. The bill requires applicants for an instructor's license to submit a medical examination report from a licensed physician, physician assistant, or advanced practice registered nurse. Applicants must also authorize a fingerprint-based background check to determine criminal history and be physically able to operate a motor vehicle safely. The Secretary of State is authorized to administer the background check and may use the information for evaluating the applicant.
