Illinois SB2824 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to establish qualifications for driver training instructors. Instructors must be of good moral character, hold a valid Illinois driver's license, and authorize a fingerprint-based background check. They must also pass an examination on traffic laws, safe driving practices, and vehicle operation. Instructors teaching students under 18 must provide a certificate of completion from an approved driver education course. The Illinois State Police will charge a fee for the background check, which is deposited in the State Police Services Fund.
