SB2761 amends the School Code to require in-service training for teachers, administrators, and school support personnel. The training must cover the proper handling of service animals, the rights of students who use service animals, and appropriate interactions with service animals. It also includes instruction on the federal Americans with Disabilities Act. Other topics include social-emotional learning, domestic and sexual violence, homelessness, and mental health first aid. Training must be completed within six months of employment and renewed periodically.
