SB2759

SB2759 regulates automated speed enforcement systems in Illinois, detailing penalties, system operation, and data privacy.

SB2759 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to regulate automated speed enforcement systems in safety zones, which include areas near schools and parks. The bill specifies that these systems must produce recorded images of vehicles violating speed limits. It outlines penalties for speeding violations, including civil penalties up to $100 for violations over 10 miles per hour above the speed limit. The bill also mandates that recorded images be accessible to the alleged violator and prohibits their use in court unless certain conditions are met.
