Amends the Toll Highway Act to require signage at toll plazas and permit certain emergency vehicles to use toll highways without paying tolls.
The bill amends the Toll Highway Act to require the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to erect and maintain signs at each Illinois Toll Plaza stating the toll rates. It also allows law enforcement, fire protection, or emergency services agency vehicles, as well as public or private ambulance service vehicles engaged in emergency services, to use toll highways without paying tolls. These vehicles must either be plainly marked or present an Official Permit Card issued by their respective agencies. The Authority must maintain a public list of all permit holders.
