SB2493

GEOLOGY ACT SUNSET EXTENSION

Complete·8/15/25

SB2493 extends the sunset date of the Professional Geologist Licensing Act from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2031.

SB2493 amends the Regulatory Sunset Act to change the repeal date of the Professional Geologist Licensing Act from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2031. The bill also adds provisions concerning the address and email address of record for applicants and licensees, the inclusion of Social Security Numbers or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers on applications, and the notification of changes in these records. The Professional Geologist Licensing Act, which regulates the practice of professional geology in Illinois, is thus extended.
