Illinois SB2395 mandates the use of an automated solar permitting platform for residential solar installations.
Illinois SB2395, known as the Residential Automated Solar Permitting Platform Act, requires municipalities with a population over 5,000 and all counties to adopt an automated solar permitting platform for residential photovoltaic systems. This platform automates plan review, produces code-compliant approvals, accepts online payments, and issues permits instantly. The bill mandates that these entities not require manual review during permitting and inspection processes unless an inspection fails.
