The Secure Telecommunications Act of 2025 mandates that all critical telecommunications infrastructure in Illinois must not include equipment from federally banned corporations or countries of concern. It requires telecommunications providers to register with the Illinois Commerce Commission and prohibits them from receiving state, local, or federal funds for infrastructure development if they fail to comply. The Act also imposes civil penalties for noncompliance and requires annual certification of compliance. Effective July 1, 2025.
