Illinois SB2339 amends the Right to Privacy in the Workplace Act to establish rules for employers using Employment Eligibility Verification Systems, including E-Verify. Employers must attest to completing required training and post notices from the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of Special Counsel. Employers cannot impose additional verification requirements beyond federal law. If an employer receives a discrepancy notice from a federal agency, they must inform the employee and provide rights to contest the notice.
