Introduced·2/7/25
Introduced Text

Illinois SB2331 amends the Livestock Management Facilities Act to set minimum setback distances for new livestock facilities.

Illinois SB2331 amends the Livestock Management Facilities Act to establish setback distances for new livestock facilities. Facilities serving less than 50 animal units are exempt from setback distances but must comply with rules under the Illinois Environmental Protection Act. Facilities serving 50 or more animal units must adhere to specific setback distances based on the number of animal units served. For example, facilities serving 50 to 1,000 animal units require a minimum setback of 1/4 mile from residences and 1/2 mile from populated areas.
