Illinois SB2248 amends the Innovations for Transportation Infrastructure Act to allow the use of certain project delivery methods for transportation.

Illinois SB2248 amends the Innovations for Transportation Infrastructure Act to allow the Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to use the design-build project delivery method for transportation facilities. The bill specifies that the capital costs for these facilities must not exceed 20% of the projects annually programmed in the Department's multi-year highway improvement program. The Transportation Agency must analyze and determine that using the selected delivery method is in the best interests of the state before commencing procurement.
